Snoezelen is the name of the philosophy that makes use of a specially designed room that provides a relaxing sensory environment for people with a variety of special needs.

The word "Snoezelen" derives from the Dutch, the region in which the Snoezelen philosophy developed.  The Dutch word "Snuffelen" means "to explore," and "doezelen" means "to doze." The word "Snoezelen" attempts to capture the concepts of sensation and relaxation in the created environment.

In Orange   Grove   Center 's Snoezelen Room, the senses are stimulated by a wonderful combination of soothing music, lighting, tactile sensations, and aromatherapy.
